Okay, so you've decided to visit Portland. That's a great choice! Now you just need to worry about where to stay and what there is to do! That's what this page is for. If you're bringing kids, also consider coming a day early and checking out either the OMSI (It's a Science Museum you can take the streetcar to!) or PAM: Portland Art Museum (the Silver Room is John's favorite!)
Please enjoy these recommendations for nice food out (or try a food cart, the prices are sometimes equivalent but not always), places to sleep near the church, and even a link to Lloyd Center- the shopping center nearest to the church!
Bonuses of staying near the wedding site if you have kids, there is a large park between The Double Tree and Residence Inn and a movie theater without even having to go inside the mall. On the other side of the mall, you'll also find a Safeway grocery store and a Buffalo Wild Wings.
Hot Lunch (including vegan options!):
Niklaus' Lebanese Catering
Cake: Helen Bernhardt Bakeries
Gluten desserts: TBA
Indoor Ice skating rink, lots of shopping opportunities, basically the hub of NE Portland.
New Orleans Style Yum!
Sadly, probably the most expensive as well. But worth it.
Wood Fired Pizza, quality ingredients for not bad prices. Nice little fancy place.
Burgers and Bottomless fries.
Pretty well known little chain.
This is going to become a treasured memory. From spicy deep fried bacon to prime rib to five types of chocolate cake, don't resist your urge to try something a little decadent.
Fried chicken and biscuits. Portland style comfort food!
Lovingly made donuts, healthier and without the line at Voodoo Doughnuts, definitely recommended. If ice cream is more your thing, think about trying Salt and Straw!
Nicely priced and quite good sushi with attentive wait staff.
